Your privacy matters. Here's exactly what FairStay collects, why, who sees it, and how we keep it safe.
1.Who we are
FairStay is based in Las Vegas, Nevada. This policy explains what we collect when you use FairStay, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it. Questions or requests go to Vegasvacation1337@gmail.com or 9452 Silvaner Ct, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
2.Information we collect
From Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile photo. That you give us: your profile details; listings (address, photos, prices, amenities, house rules); short-term rental permit details and insurance documents; booking requests, dates and group size; reviews; and complaint statements and photos. Collected automatically: a secure session cookie that keeps you signed in, your IP address, browser and device type, and records of when you accepted our terms. Payments: Stripe collects your card details directly. FairStay never sees or stores your full card number. We receive only the payment status, amount and the last four digits or card brand.
3.How we use it
To create and secure your account. To show listings and run search. To handle booking requests, payments, payouts and refunds. To review host permits and insurance. To show reviews and stay history to hosts deciding on a request, under our Non-discrimination Policy. To investigate complaints and keep the platform safe. To prevent fraud and abuse (for example, rate limiting by IP address). To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to contact you about your bookings and account. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4.Who we share it with
Other users: when you request or book a stay, the host sees your name, profile photo, stay history, reviews and booking details. Guests see the host's name, photo, listing and reviews. Exact addresses are shared only after a booking is confirmed. Service providers that process data for us under contract: Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in), and our cloud hosting, database and file-storage providers. Authorities: if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect someone's safety. A buyer or successor, if FairStay is ever merged or sold, in which case this policy continues to apply.
5.How it is disclosed
Information shared with other users appears inside the FairStay app on listing, booking and review pages. Information shared with service providers is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limited to what they need to do their job. We disclose information to authorities only in response to a written legal request we have reviewed, or in an emergency involving someone's safety.
6.How we protect it
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in uses Google, so we never store passwords. Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies. Each account can only reach its own bookings, documents and payments, and admin tools are limited to authorized staff. Requests from other websites are blocked, and sensitive actions are rate limited. Payment data is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information we will notify you as the law requires.
7.How long we keep it
We keep account and booking records while your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need them for taxes, accounting, disputes and legal obligations (usually up to 7 years for payment records). IP addresses used for abuse prevention are deleted automatically within minutes. Insurance and permit documents are kept while the listing is active and for a reasonable time afterwards.
8.Your choices and rights
You can update your profile at any time. You can ask us to access, correct, download or delete your personal information by emailing Vegasvacation1337@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner if your state's law requires it. Some records may be kept where the law requires it. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have more rights. We will never treat you differently for using them.
9.Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and protect your account. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10.Children
FairStay is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11.Changes to this policy
If we make an important change, we will update the version date above and let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
